Day 08 : Hawes - Keld (19km)

Total distance covered so far : 198 km

Hawed station, closed in 1959. Now a (small) museum.
Hardraw church
Only in the countryside could you leave all these crocheted things out!
Fantastic views from the top of Great Shunner Fell (716m).
They say on a good day you can see both east and west coasts.
It was very, very windy and cold though
These guys are actually only about 1mm across!
Heading down into Thwaite in Thwaledale.
I have a feeling these stone buildings are protected. They are very much 'of the Dales'.
And this rubble they piled up for about 1km on the track was just about the most awkward stuff you could ever have to walk on! Gosh! I was glad to be off that crap!
Since that's actually not wide enough for a single foot, I assume they are having a little joke!

I was holding the camera level, it really was that steep!
Were-wabbit! Spooky!
Heading round the vally into Keld. Really lovely views.
Pretty flowers but even more ankle twisting rubble to clamber over for about another km! Horrible!
Keld on a busy afternoon!
